What you should know about The Monaco Kitchen
With an emphasis on regionally produced ingredients, Nelson born and bred head chef Jay Olsen and his passionate team are taking a totally different approach to what has gone before. We really want to reflect a more New Zealand experience giving visitors and locals alike the opportunity to discover our unique style rather than following overseas influences. Open for breakfast and dinner every day, the TMK team understands the role food plays as a catalyst to sharing time together. Small Bites and Sharing Plates feature large on the menu and give the opportunity to mix and match, whereas diners wanting something more substantial are well catered for by a range of Feast Plates, all complemented by fabulous local craft beers and wines and warm, engaging service.

The Monaco Kitchen. Breakfast and dinner are both available via room service particular room service menus are provided in all hotel rooms. The menu features dishes drawing inspiration for different cuisines from around the world. The Monaco Kitchen introduces a whole fresh approach to enjoying delicious food, amazing regional produce, craft beers and wines, and a relaxed vibe.
We will always try our best to accommodate any changes to your reservation, but please be mindful that we can only guarantee your booking if the number of people, the date and time of the reservation continue the same. Note the team in reception can assist you arrange book your amazing Abel Tasman National Park visit and many other day trip activities. Room service breakfast orders need to be with reception by 10pm the night before. We've recently been awarded a 2016 Beef and Lamb Excellence Award for both lamb and beef dishes at The Monaco Kitchen.
Nelson is easily accessed by vehicle and served by over 50 direct flights from New Zealand’s main centers. The Grand Mercury Nelson Monaco can welcome up to 220 guests in various styles of accommodation ranging from standard hotel rooms to exquisite one and two bedroom self contained studios and cottages. Executive Chef Jay Olsen and his team of highly talented chefs have come up with some inspirational dishes using spices and ingredients from Africa to Mexico, Korea and Japan. And that's not all we've recently introduced some fresh beauties to the wine list such as the Grant Burger 5th Generation Shiraz from the Barossa Valley available by glass and bottle.
