What you should know about Sunset Valley Vineyard
In 1993, Ian Newton and his partner Ros Squire bought this hillside property in the Upper Moutere area. They planted some of it in vines, devoting the remaining land to grass and trees, with a focus on natives. Sunset Valley has been organic from the beginning the vineyard was certified in 1997, followed by the first commercial crop in 1998. Everything takes place on the property, from grape growing to winemaking, storing and bottling
