Jeff Parker has recently joined the team as Technical Manager who will be taking over the ever growing task of standards, certifications and assurances. Brian is the Chairman of the Wood Processors Manufacturers Association of New Zealand and Board Member of the Wood Council of New Zealand. He has been involved for over 40 years in the development and manufacture of structural timber solutions. Timberlab provides Glulam and contemporary engineered timber solutions including LVL post tensioned structures for building projects throughout New Zealand and, significantly, to offshore markets.
Doug Ducker has been Managing Director of Pan Pac Forest Products since following service with the company in roles including process engineering, technical R D, project management and production management. I started in the sawmilling industry 27 years ago at the Rainbow Mountain operation that was then managed by Tasman lumber. Jon Ryder CEO, CHH Pulp, Paper Packaging, New Zealand Jon Ryder is currently the CEO of Carter Holt Harvey Pulp, Paper and Packaging division as such he has direct responsibility for all activities of these businesses, Health Safety and Environment , EBIT, manufacturing, engineering, sales and marketing and strategic development. I have close to 30 years experience within the Industry including leadership roles in . Three years later after adding Weathertex, a hardboard cladding material to his portfolio he moved to Oberon to become Business Manager for Structaflor, responsible for all aspects of the operations as well as marketing the range.
There is a strong feeling that this advocacy be channelled to the highest levels of national and local government and forest growing company management. WPMA shares an office and a close relationship with the Forest Owners Association, NZ Farm Forestry and the Institute of Forestry. Jon Tanner has spent the last 20 years working in primary industry in New Zealand, Asia, Africa and Europe. Originally from a farming background, Jon has experience as a science manager, director of public policy and as a CEO of primary industry bodies. Jeanette Sutherland is an experienced Executive Assistant and an Associate Member of the New Zealand Institute of Management. As well as being the Executive Assistant to the CEO Jeanette also holds the position of Company Secretary for WPMA and also supporting the Wood Council of New Zealand Woodco , providing istration and Board Governance.
Debbie was previously employed by NZ Pine Manufacturers Association for 5 years as Executive Assistant to the CEO before the merger with Wood Processors Association. Debbie’s role is to manage promotional events, conferences, websites and sponsorships. He also developed an MSG QC scheme which serviced 5 sites using Plessey Computermatic msg’s, While it would not match the sophistication of the Timber Quality Scheme being implemented by WPMA, it was an important step toward today’s QC of structural timber. When it became apparent that Forest Research as it had become intended to sell off the technology Jeff joined Fletcher Challenge Forests as Product Development Engineer.
Taking 60 days to dry hardwoods was a whole new experience!! Board meetings, newsletters, regional meetings, technical conference and national conferences. Via this mark finger jointed and laminated products are promoted direct to end users and specifiers in Australia since and New Zealand beginning July 2013 . NZ is currently in the process of implementing a new Worksafe programme for all businesses. This will help ensure you’re prepared for when the law comes into effect in 2015. It is currently before Parliament’s Transport and Industrial Relations Committee, which is considering public submissions on the Bill.
Once the Bill is passed, it will be several months before the new Health and Safety at Work Act comes fully into force in 2015
