What you should know about Massage Works
Cordelia Sharpe I have been in professional practice since 1998, and I am passionate about helping people achieve their health, energy, and fitness goals. I believe massage can be of great benefit to everybody, and as research has proven, can have positive effects on many aspects on your health and well being. I get a great sense of satisfaction working with clients that are pro active in their own health. My style of massage is a combination of all the techniques I have learnt over my years of practice but is predominately pressure point and deep tissue, although each client is treated individually and given a treatment that best suit their needs.
I enjoy spending my spare time outdoors with my partner and friends, mountain biking and hiking, and walking my dogs, as well as time in my garden. I have also worked in a Day Spa giving various treatments to aid in client relaxation. My treatments typically involve pressure points, active release, deep tissue and myofacial. I enjoy helping athletes maintain their bodies, individuals whom are rehabbing an injury and basic maintenance from what life throws as us. I'm looking forward to sharing with you my enthusiasm about what massage can do for you! In my spare time I enjoy playing sports, outdoor adventures, making good food and spending time with friends and family.
I have over 10 years experience as a Massage Therapist, graduating with a Diploma in Therapeutic Massage in 2005. Whether it’s postural, biomechanical or stress related issues, I enjoy taking a holistic approach in assisting clients to gain optimum balance and function. I believe that therapeutic massage on a regular basis is a great tool for maintaining your body’s health and wellbeing on a physical, mental and or emotional level. I enjoy using a range of techniques including deep tissue, trigger point work, mobilisation, stretching and strengthening, as well as offering relaxation and pregnancy massage.
I love spending time with my amazing family, and enjoy getting out into nature, being active and have a new found love for baking!. I received a Bachelor of Sports and Therapeutic Massage in 2010 and have always had an interest in sports and the workings of the human body. I have worked in a gym setting where I worked with variety of sportspeople who understand the need to maintain their bodies with regular massage and have also spent six years working in a Health Spa. The techniques I find to be most effective are a mix of Deep tissue, Neuromuscular, Myofascial and Trigger Point Release. I have worked for eight years as physiotherapist, in clinics that I set up in France and Switzerland before I come to your beautiful country.
I also worked with professional athletes, touring for two seasons with a French Professional Rugby Team. I work with a range of techniques which I have learnt and developed during my physiotherapist time. I love sport skiing, climbing, sailing, biking, as well as spending time with friends and baking.
